How to Schedule a Google Meet: A Simple Guide for Everyone


In today's digital age, virtual meetings have become an essential part of our personal and professional lives. Google Meet, a popular video conferencing platform, has emerged as a reliable tool for connecting with colleagues, friends, and family.

Step 1: Access Google Meet


To schedule a Google Meet, you need to have a Google account. If you don't already have one, you can easily create one for free. Once you have an account, follow these steps:

  • In the search bar, type "Google Meet" and press Enter, or you can directly go to meet.google.com.

  • Click on the "Schedule a meeting" button on the Google Meet homepage.

  • A scheduling window will appear. Here, you can set the date and time for your meeting.

  • Choose the start date and time by clicking on the calendar and clock icons, respectively.

  • Set the duration of your meeting. Google Meet allows you to schedule meetings that last anywhere from 15 minutes to 24 hours.

  • Optionally, you can add a description for your meeting and specify whether it's a recurring event (daily, weekly, etc.).

  • Click the "Save" button to confirm your scheduling details.



Step 5: Invite Participants


After scheduling your meeting, you'll need to invite participants. Here's how:


  • Click on the "Add people" icon (a person with a plus sign) in the scheduling window.

  • Enter the email addresses of the participants you want to invite. You can also copy the meeting link and share it manually.

  • Click the "Send" button to send out invitations.


Step 6: Access and Join the Scheduled Meeting


As the meeting's organizer, you'll have access to the meeting details. To join your scheduled meeting:


  • On the Google Meet homepage, click on "Upcoming meetings" on the left sidebar.

  • Locate your scheduled meeting and click on the "Join" button when it's time to start.


Step 7: Manage Your Meeting

During the meeting, you have various controls, such as muting participants, sharing your screen, and more. Familiarize yourself with these options to host a successful meeting.
